Calling all desperate moms and/or dads! Please tell me I’m not the only one!!!
It’s January in New Hampshire and the winter weather hit this week. We had a snow day and this mom was actually able to fall back asleep after receiving the phone call from the school! #winning! I used to be the best sleeper and since my little men have arrived, I’m lucky if I sleep 4 straight hours. My how times have changed. I used to think 9am was super early and now I wake up at 5:30am just to get some peace and quiet. Actually, I wake up at 5:30am with every intention to exercise in the morning, but really I just sit and watch the morning news and drink my tea….motivation, where did you go!!!!??????
Anyway, last Wednesday morning I actually fell back asleep and was drooling away until I had two little men body slamming me in my bed. One was jumping on my back and the other one was literally jumping on the bed and landing on my head…thank god it was the smaller of the two! I’m not gonna lie, hearing their giggles first thing in the morning was a GREAT way to start the day, but this meant that I had lost my 30 minutes of silence for the day. :0
I wiped the drool off my cheek and rolled out of bed. For some reason, my kids will not go downstairs without me. I’m like, “seriously, you’re 5, I expect eggs, bacon and a side of pancakes.” I am totally kidding, but a girl can dream. We got downstairs and the kids immediately started fighting over a monster truck. Even though we have what feels like thousands of cars and trucks, they both wanted the same monster truck.
They were tugging on the monster truck, so I did what any desperate mother would do….I whipped out the popscicles for breakfast!

Before you judge, it does say “Made with real Orange Juice.” Yes folks, mother of the year award right here! I turned on some Spongebob and gave them each a popsicle! It was the best decision I ever made!!! The monster truck went flying across the room and I got about 4 minutes of silence! I told my kids not to get used to it, but I’m secretly going to have a stash of those suckers just in case! 😉
What can I say, sometimes a mom has to do what a mom has to do to make it through! ***insert the shoulder shrugging emoji***
xoxo,
Shannon
